Chromebook Challenge - Th’ End.

Decided to send it back. As much as I like it, and probably could use it for work stuff, three things come to mind:

  1. The floppy detachable keyboard isn’t working for me. I can’t use it on my lap, and I don’t really need it as a tablet (it’s never going to replace my iPad for that.)
  2. One big reason I got it in the first place is to field test it for Paula, but there were some changes that means plans are being pushed back.
  3. There were some things that would be cool to do with it, but it would require an Intel processor. The CM3 is ARM based.

I definitely don’t see it as a replacement for my iPad. Too many things require apps that need either Mac or iPadOS, and there is no way to chat with anyone using an Apple ID-based device on a Chromebook. Oh well, I had to try. If I decide to take the plunge again, I’ll spring for the “Fiesta Red” Samsung model.
