Chromebook Challenge - Th’ End.
Decided to send it back. As much as I like it, and probably could use it for work stuff, three things come to mind:
- The floppy detachable keyboard isn’t working for me. I can’t use it on my lap, and I don’t really need it as a tablet (it’s never going to replace my iPad for that.)
- One big reason I got it in the first place is to field test it for Paula, but there were some changes that means plans are being pushed back.
- There were some things that would be cool to do with it, but it would require an Intel processor. The CM3 is ARM based.
I definitely don’t see it as a replacement for my iPad. Too many things require apps that need either Mac or iPadOS, and there is no way to chat with anyone using an Apple ID-based device on a Chromebook. Oh well, I had to try. If I decide to take the plunge again, I’ll spring for the “Fiesta Red” Samsung model.
