A Bad Day
Today was, as they call it, a Bad Day ™. Last night I did part of my homework, completely forgetting about a second part. This morning I went in and found out there was a third part that I did not even know about. I was preparing myself for the worst – the policy is that if you are unprepared, you get sent home and have to make up the class. I told the chef that I did not have two out of three of my homework assignments. I told him I was very embarrassed, as it was the first time I had ever shown up for class unprepared. He told me it will never happen again, and to turn it in tomorrow. I was shocked that I wasn’t sent home, then later found out that my saving grace was the fact that someone else forgot part of their assignment, which would have had the chef sending two people home. That would have left four people to make breakfast and lunch for 20, which would not have worked out so well. I had also forgotten my pocket notepad, and then later found out I forgot my ServSafe book for Sanitation Class (fortunately I didn’t need it because we had a practice test and spent the class going over it.) I have never been so discombobulated in the two months I have been here.
Needless to say I have already done the homework 🙂
